Son Risers Church Breakfast

On the last Sunday of 2023, the Son Risers treated the entire church to breakfast during the normal Sunday School time. Rob planned the breakfast with menu items from our normal bi-weekly breakfasts - Eggs (either plain or with sausage and cheese), pancakes, link sausage, potatoes, juice, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

Four young people did the bulk of the cooking for the breakfast - Cade, Jessup, David, and Jonathan! These young men have been involved in the Son Risers meetings at various times and it was great to have them "taking over" the kitchen.

Most of the other Son Riser men were

involved in many different roles to make the breakfast a success - planning, purchasing food, setting tables, serving, (and what seemed like endless) cleanup!

The Son Risers will start a study in Hebrews this coming Thursday after completing several years in the Gospel of Luke. Rob read the first couple of verses of Hebrews and related it to the main activities of the Son Risers - studying God's Word, looking at Jesus as our example, and seeing God in all the activities of our life.

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. Hebrews 1:1-2

Those at the breakfast got a little feel for our times together as Joe encouraged people to share "God moments" and Paul led us in a short time of prayer for needs in our lives.

The Son Risers welcome any men to join us weekly for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer. On January 4th we will meet on Zoom and on the 11th we will have breakfast at the church
