Christian Education Ministry Report from the 2022 Annual Report

Sunday School (CE) classes are held during the school year from September- June at 9:15-10:15 Sunday mornings.  We continue to be blessed by having dedicated and faithful Sunday School teachers and facilitators.
All classes, youth and adult, continue to work through the Gospel Project curriculum studying the Old Testament.  Each class studies the same Bible lesson each week learning how the Bible is not just a collection of stories but of The Story – unfolding throughout Scripture God’s plan of redemption through Jesus Christ.

We offered 2 youth classes for Elementary and Pre-teen-Jr/Sr High students: Dave and Chris Wright led the younger group while Chad Caccamise led the older group with Seth McNear and Pastor Brandt assisting as well.  This class offers an at-home opportunity through Zoom and continues to be a blessing.  We continue to offer Sunday School curriculum material to younger children to use at home as well.

The Adult Class led by Rob Willhoft and facilitated by others continues to be well attended averaging 15 participants each week. The group continues to be challenged delving deep into the Bible to understand how ‘The Gospel Changes Everything’.  In the summer months, this class met for a time of fellowship with various individuals leading a topic of their choice.

In cooperation with the Evangelism and Missions team, we were blessed to be able to hold the Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing party this year.  Jennifer White and Julie Foeller led the program this year.  Youth and adults packed 82 boxes with items donated throughout the year. Our congregation will be blessing a total of 104 children around the world. Our Sunday School offering fund dedicated for missions was used as well as monetary donations from individuals to be able to help offset the shipping costs.

In our efforts to build on teaching the Word of God to elementary-aged children, we started a new children's ministry called Kids Quest. On Saturday mornings, we got together to play games (their favorite was a game of tag called Gotcha!) and had a time of studying topics like saving faith, the Bible, and adoption using a video series called "Theo Presents." We also had special children's activities such as a back-to-school bash and a Christmas party. 2023 looks exciting as we will be finishing up Theo Presents and will start using The Jesus Storybook Bible as our lesson. We also will have new children's activities such as nerf basketball games and Easter activities.

As 2022 came to a close, we were so blessed to be able to worship the King of Kings with the annual Christmas pageant, led by Chris Wright and assisted by Diane White.

As we look forward to a New Year, we cannot forget how faithful God has been over the past year.  We trust that as we plan for the upcoming year, we will have a clear vision of the direction the Lord will take us in as we strive to help disciple our congregation.  If anyone is interested in being a part of this very important ministry, please contact Julie Foeller.

Respectfully submitted,

Julie Foeller (for the Christian Education Ministry team)
